Cate's travel to the planet Earth. (a controversial bedtime story)

Cate doesn’t belong in planet earth. She wasn't born here. She's from a planet in a galaxy far far away, where everything is pink and green, people are kind and full of love and respect for each other, and violence, poverty and destruction simply doesn't exist. She literally lives in a sea of roses. Recently she came to our planet in a kind of exchange program, to learn more about humans, the planet earth, and our culture. The first few days she was amazed with all the high technology, since her planet doesn't have our kind of advance in this area. But when initial shock of culture passed, she began to see the reality that surrounds everyone in this fucking planet. She saw children dying from awful diseases, being beaten to death, living in the streets with their parents being obligated to ask for money, old people being mistreated, abandoned by their families, living in poverty. She saw wars, destruction, tragedies and tears, a lot of tears. Her heart began to hurt like someone was with his hands around it, squeezing back and forward in such intensity that she couldn’t handle any more, cut her trip short and got back to her planet. When she arrived, she went to talk to an elder of her village and described all the awful things she’s had seen in this really short trip to earth, questioning why there were such things in a planet full of natural beauty and technological progress. The much more elderly man told her that everything happens for a reason, and in the case of planet earth, the greed of men was more powerful than any other feeling, leading the civilization into a path of destruction. He also said that her planet was such a beautiful and fair place to live because everyone agreed to live a simple life, far from everything that could be a danger to the peace of that planet. In that moment, Cate realized that she had only to thank God for being such a lucky person for living in a planet so wonderful.
